(Latest News First)

As we all know, Covid 19 has stopped all activities concerning choirs.
The Chorale had to cancel its forthcoming concert just days before lockdown caused us to cancel.
Daniel, our MD is still in Laramie, Wyoming, from where he is leading us on a special study of Vaughan Williams' music and and its history, with an aim, also, of making a recording from his Mass in G minor and working through some folk songs. This, of course, is on Zoom.

We are hoping that some sort of singing together can be achieved in 2021 when Daniel returns to the UK.

Spring Term 2020: Daniel is off to America on a Sabatical on completion of his studies at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. He is due to take over the Chorale on a full time basis in September.
Phil has decided to end his association with the Chorale. We thank him for the music-making we have enjoyed under his baton.
Ben Hamilton has agreed to take on the Chorale for the Spring concert and we are looking forward to having his expert guidance for the concert in Brewood Parish Church on March 28th.

Following their successful concerts, the Chorale is very pleased that both Daniel and Phil have agreed to be our joint MD's. They will be acting on a term and term about system.
We are very much looking forward to our continued association with them both.

For the Summer Term we welcome Phil Ypres-Smith who is leading the Chorale through a programme which includes a work of his own arrangement.
Phil also played the organ and conducted the Chorale at the wedding service of Chloe Whittle and George Williams at St Mary's church, Enville, on May 14th.

Welcome to Daniel Galbreath who has agreed to take over the reins of Directorship for the Spring Term 2016. The Chorale is looking forward to singing Handel's Messiah under his leadership.

Oliver Walker resigned from the post of Musical Director at the end of the Autumn Term 2015.
The Chorale wishes him every good wish for a successful future and thanks him for the good nature with which he ably, and sensitively, directed its singing during the last 5 years.

From September 2013, the Chorale is to offer paid scholarships to singers aged 15 to 18 who would like to sing with the Chorale.
For further details see Sponsors/Scholarship Scheme.
Applicants will be chosen by a simple audition and should apply to the Chairman or Secretary

Katie is moving to Yorkshire where she and Simon are setting up home. The Chorale members wish them both all good fortune for the future.

The AGM took place before the first rehearsal of the Spring Term, on January 12th 2013, starting at 9.30am.
The Committee has not changed

What a lovely day the Chorale had at Simon and Katie's wedding.
The Bride and Bridesmaids looked lovely; the Groom and his fellow Military Escorts were resplendent in their uniforms - all making for a splendid colourful occasion.
The Chorale sang Parry's 'I Was Glad' for the Bride's entrance.
Rutter's 'This Is The Day' and Goodall's 'The Lord Is My Shepherd' were performed
during the signing of the register.

In addition, weather-wise, Summer had arrived at last!
